How Neptunus, a flourishing wholesale business, came into existence.

Jan Van Molle starts to sell fish door-to-door in Dendermonde in 1968.
The business becomes a succes and Jan and his wife
decide to open a fish shop a year later.
That's the foundation for Vishandel Neptunus.

In the beginning the demand for fish of Jan Van Molle increases.
Not only particulars but also by institutions and companies.
Because he wants to sell his fish on friday also,
Jan decides to buy his fish himself in the fish auction in Ostend.
About the middle of the eighies. He starts to buy his fish at fish auctions
in the Netherlands or in Scandinaviä.
In the same period Vishandel Neptunus opens a wharehouse at the docks in Ostend
where he can treat the fresh fish in his own workshop.
